One of the GigaPIX targets is to enhance the Portuguese telecom market by interconnecting the main Portuguese service providers and all major national content delivery networks.
Another goal is to deliver the best connectivity towards RCTS, the Portuguese NREN. Therefore, GigaPIX aims to increase the number of members connected, reason why there are no collocation, cross-connect or monthly fees to be payed. The only fee applied is for 100G, where there is an activation cost.
In the datacenters not managed by FCT|FCCN, cross-connect costs may be applied. These are charged to the member by the specific collocation operator and are not FCT/FCCN’s responsibility.
